The 8 members of the committee are responsible for the wellbeing of the club and its members, ensuring that current members can make the most of their experience, and that the club is in a stable position moving forward for future years to enjoy. Although many committee members already go above and beyond what is officially expected of them to help, guidelines state that they must do at least the following:

 

6.1    THE CLUB CAPTAIN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•    Providing a high standard of instruction and leadership for the members.
•    Organising the British Universities Tenpin Bowling Association (BUTBA) matches against other Universities,
•    Selecting teams for these matches and other tournaments,
•    Choosing which tournaments to enter,
•    Attending BUTBA AGM meetings,
•    Submitting a report on the activities of the SUTBC to the Sports Officer and publish on the SUTBC website.
•    Publicising the SUTBC’s Complaints procedure to members,
•    Ensuring the SUTBC’s committee includes necessary officers,
•    Organising the intro week bazaar and intro bowl,
•    Making the necessary arrangements with Bob, the manager of Firth Park Bowl, Sheffield.
•    Any other duties as agreed with the Club Committee.

6.2    THE VICE CAPTAIN IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•    The co-ordination of the functions undertaken by the committee,
•    Organising team shirts and drill tops for the SUTBC,
•    Ordering and organising the end of season prizes/trophies,
•    Updating of the notice board in the Union,
•    Running weekly TripleX competition,
•    Generally helping out if another committee member is unable to perform their duties.
•    Maintain and update information on the SUTBC website.

6.3 THE CLUB SECRETARY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•    Administering the membership of the SUTBC,
•    Administering the Club’s insurance policies in conjunction with the Sport and Student Activities Office,
•    Administering the weekly league, including preparation of scoresheets and updating of team standings and averages
•    Arranging the transport for members between the Students Union and Firth Park bowl.

6.4    THE TREASURER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•    Administering the SUTBC’s finances in accordance with Union procedures. Producing a financial plan for the academic year,
•    Producing the SUTBC’s annual budget proposal,
•    Collecting the cost of bowling from each bowler every Wednesday afternoon when the SUTBC meet to bowl.

6.5    THE TOURNAMENT SECRETARY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•    Organising the Sheffield Quads Tournament hosted annually by the SUTBC. This entails the distribution and receipt of entry forms, negotiating with Firth Park Bowling Centre, organising the playing schedules and working out scores and results.
•    Organising any further tournaments run by SUTBC,
•    Writing tournament match reports to be uploaded to the SUTBC website and publicised in Forge Press,
•    Aiding the captain with entry to tournaments throughout the year.

6.6    THE SOCIAL SECRETARY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•    Organising social activities for the SUTBC,
•    Aiding Captain in the organisation of the annual SUTBC tour abroad,
•    Organising the Christmas and End of Year meal for the members of the SUTBC.

6.7    THE RECRUITMENT SECRETARY IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•     Aiding the design of leaflets and posters for Sports Fair and to generally promote SUTBC,
•     Forming of the Sheffield Hallam Tenpin Bowling team,
•     Arranging an SUTBC stand at the Hallam Sports Fair,
•     Liaising with Hallam members,
•     Aid captain in the organisation of a Varsity match.

6.8    THE CLUB SAFETY OFFICER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR:

•    Giving advice on tenpin bowling to Andy Cox in the event of an incident, General safety issues within the Club.
•    Ensuring that the club has at least two qualified first aiders, and if necessary making sure arrangements have been made for club members to attend courses.
